I remember taking the bus to school and seeing them suffer in the heat or the cold and I couldn't imagine how they felt and how lucky I was to live in a heated or air-conditioned house. I remember buying my prom dress in LA and a homeless woman and her kids with torn and filthy clothes asked me for money for McDonald's. I thought that if I could share my resources with others to help better their lives, what a fulfilling life that would be for myself. Why not help others if I can? I made my own club in high school to run a soup kitchen once a month in Old Town Pasadena to help feed the homeless because everyone deserves access to healthy, nutritious, and delicious food. I just think about how much I am able to do for these people in times in need. I just love helping others, and though it might not seem like much, I'm making a huge impact on the homeless issue just by doing something about it." |
